Abraham Lincoln
After the Civil War, Lincoln was faced with the reconstruction process. He was known for his reconstruction policy, which was very lenient to the South. However, his presidency was cut short with his assassination by John Wilkes Boothe. Johnson took over the presidency and made his own reconstruction policy. Abraham Lincoln will always be a huge inspiration for civil rights in the future, and many African Americans and whites will look to his policies in the future. Some people wonder if the reconstruction period would have been run better by Lincoln rather than Johnson.
